Ethos

Primal Faith. Original and real. Throughout Scripture we see men and women shaped and changed by a God that was present. In his constant a unrelenting pursuit of us, we don’t see a God that is withdrawn and aloof, but even now he is present. Always seeking, always pursuing, always forgiving, always loving. Always present.

We believe faith is messy. Dealing with job loss and financial ruin is as common now as it has ever been. As we deal with “Hard times in the land of plenty”, we need to understand the truth about faith in Christ. It does not bring escape from trouble, but grants us help and hope.

Faith is not easy, because life is not easy. But when we have the promise of God to “never leave us,” then we can encounter the difficulty of life with a confidence not in our own abilities, but a confidence in the ability of a God who “loves us and gave himself for us.”

So we fight. We fight for faith. Not because we need to win faith, it is given to us freely. Scripture tells us that “each man has been granted a measure of faith.” We fight because we refuse to give up. we fight because we are in a war. We fight because we understand the importance of the battle.

We go places where some won’t go. We reach out to those who are forgotten and left alone to live and die without hope. We go to the hard places with a message of hope and love. Why? Because faith and grace is not a solo effort. In its very design it is better understood in community. So, we go.
